Yukon and Alaska 2022

Yukon and Alaska 2022
2022 — Late night first day arrival in Whitehorse taken with iphone
2022 — Early morning flight Whitehorse to Vancouver taken with iphone

Yukon and Alaska 2022 — 2 August to 15 Sept

This trip involved more-o-less 24 hours travel from Glasgow to Whitehorse, a night in a hotel in Whitehorse either end of a 6 week truck campervan rental from Canadream. I decided to take along an additional checked in baggage to be able to take along all the photography gear I needed as well as fly-fishing gear and some camping gear as well as a number of additional items taken on advice from a good friend, Sandra Bos, who had done such trip on more than one occasion. For one I took 14 days of clothing to minimise laundry arrangements (ended up doing 3 laundry stops).

A good number of National Parks, Wildlife Refuges and State Parks and museums were visited and I’ll annotate in the image titles if this was the case. I’ll try to group areas within this text. As this gallery spans 5 weeks in the USA (Alaska) and one week in Canada (Yukon and British Columbia) it makes sense to put it together as its pretty much all wilderness — I still need to decide whether I’ll separate the countries and exactly how it should be presented on the website. For now it is together. A number of photos were taken with my iphone (as it was available at the time) and they are titled accordingly. The Canon 5Dmk4 was used for landscape and everyday mostly and the 1Dx2 was used for the shots where faster response and speed was required. I also used a Sony Rx100 iv as I carried it in my safari jacket most of the time — used as filler when I an appropriate fullframe zoom especially for landscapes available wasn’t available (to compliment the story so to speak). Further I mostly used the 300mm f2.8 canon prime lens and the 16-35mm f4 canon zoom.

NOTE: The galleries might contain more than 50 images. Loading might be slightly delayed due to good quality images being uploaded. Play slideshow by clicking on an image and then on the arrow in top right hand corner. Wave cursor over image to stop slideshow (image can enlarge to  fullscreen by clicking on box in top corner). For potential purchases its better to contact me via email please. Most functions and viewing is better on larger displays compared to phones.
